Diazprim %50

Diazprim %50 contains Sulfadiazine of Sulfonamide group and trimethoprim of Diaminopyrimidine group.

Veterinary Medicated premix / Oral Powder

Composition:

Each gram contains 416.7 mg Sulfadiazine, 83.3 mg trimethoprim.

Indications

It is used mainly for the treatment of infections caused by sensitive bacteria in fresh water and salty water fish (sea bream, sea bass, trout). In culture fish, it is used in the treatment of bacterial hemorrhagic septicemia (Aeromonas hydrophila, Pseudomonas sp.) Kolumnaris disease (Flexibacter columnaris), red mouth disease (Yersinia ruckerii), Streptococcus infections (β hemolytic and non-hemolytic Streptococcus sp.), cold water vibriosis (Vibrio salmonicida), Winter disease (Pseudomonas anguiliseptica), ulcer disease (Haemophilus piscium) and Cold water disease known as Rainbow trout fry syndrome caused by Cytofaga psycrophila.

Posology:

Unless recommended otherwise by the Veterinary surgeon, 

Pharmacological dose:

The combined daily treatment dose of Sulfadiazine and Trimethoprim in fish is calculated according to the 30 mg/kg body weight.  According to this;

the daily treatment dose of Diazprim 50% Oral powder in fish is 60 mg mg/kg body weight. 

Practical dose:

In fish, the practical dose is 6 g/100 kg l.w./day. 

Preparation of the medicated premix: previously weighed amount of Diazprim 50% Oral Powder is added into a clean, dry and sensitive mixer or feed mixer. While the mixing process continues 1% oil is sprayed in the form of spray. After 2-5 minutes of mixing, the homogenous mixture of medicated feed is ready to be used. Fish should be left as starved for 12-24 hours before initiating treatment. The feed rate may vary depending on the water temperature and the size of the fish. Medicated feed should be prepared fresh daily.

Withdrawal Time:

Fish that were administered medication should not be harvested for human consumption until the total daily water temperatures reach to 550°C. Withdrawal time for fish is 550°C/day.

Presented in 0.5, 1, 2.5 and 5 kg plastic containers and in 20 kg double coated Kraft bags.
